Clinica Medica San Lucas began on November 1, 1994, in a rented house near the Central Park of Gracias Lempira. These efforts were initiated through the direct support of Dr. Peter Boelens, CEO of The Luke Society, at that time. The following year he bought a property in the neighborhood Mejicapa.  The Clinic has remained in the same location, expanding to its present size, ever since. 

The main purpose of the San Lucas Clinic is to serve the needy people of  the Lempira department, as well as other departments of Western Honduras. .
